Delivering a vision – a Lesson from London
In the UK Ballymore is known for its landmark regeneration projects which span Greater London, from riverside communities in the East such as Royal Wharf, London City Island and Good Luck Hope to Embassy Gardens in the South – where Ballymore has transformed underutilised land into vibrant neighbourhoods – to Brentford, in the West, where it is revitalising the town centre and reconnecting the High Street with the waterfront.
The masterplan to regenerate the Royal Docks and surrounding areas is an example of Ballymore’s experience in ambitious urban regeneration enabled by collaboration between national government, local authorities, and industry. As part of the masterplan, Ballymore delivered homes for 17,000 people in under nine years, together with schools, a high street, cultural institutions, and a riverboat pier. The scale and speed of this project demonstrates to what can be achieved with collaboration between the public and private sectors.
